    1pm static performance on Breageside; then leading the fancy dress procession at 2pm from the playing field to the Lime Kiln Stage; followed by a performance on the Lime Kiln Stage at 2.40pm.

    May day celebrations in St Ives: taking part in the May day parade from the Guildhall and then static performance on St Ives harbour. St Ives May day is a lovely celebration of spring with traditional Maypole dancing and a May King and Queen. This gig will be with guest leader Mark (thanks Mark!)

  • St Ives Food and Drink Festival

    We will be playing outside the Guildhall, Street-an-pol, St Ives from 11.30am - 12.15pm. We will then be taking part in a parade from the Guildhall to West Pier via Fore Street, leaving the Guildhall at 1pm. The first ever St Ives Food and Drink festival is looking like it's going to be a great event - the festival goes on over the week preceding this weekend and then the weekend is full of cookery demos, lovely food and drink stalls and other entertainment.   • Mazey Day, Penzance

    Golowan! 11.30am: Short performance at top of Causeway Head, followed by procession to Chapel Street. As soon as we arrive in Chapel Street we will be playing a static performance there for a little while.

  • Mevagissey Carnival

    7pm: Band to meet at the Recreation ground - car parking passes will be available at the rehearsal on July 1st.

    7.30pm: Carnival procession leaves the recreation ground and goes down through Mevagissey, round the harbour and back up to the recreation ground.

    Last year we played a static spot on the harbour after the carnival, we'll see what happens this year!

    6.30pm: Band to meet at the main car park in Wadebridge (on foot - there is street car parking only but most of you should be coming on the coach!)

    4-4.15pm: Band to meet at William's Yard in Camborne
    4.30pm: Band bus leaves
    5.30pm: Meet in Padstow with anyone not on the bus
    6pm: Judging
    6.30pm: Carnival procession starts. As usual the route goes down through town to the harbour. We will be stopping at the bandstand toward the end of the route to continue playing there for a while.

This will be a great evening with samba, capoeira, and Brazilian food - we'll be playing sometime after 10pm, don't miss it!   • Halloween bash at Gaslights Bar, Redruth

    Samba Celtica are supporting Weazeldust for their Halloween bash at Gaslights - fancy dress is a definite requirement! The whole band will be there so expect lots of noise, lots of silly outfits and lots of dancing opportunities. Free entry, no tickets required! See you there!

  • Helston Christmas Lights

    We'll be playing in Helston for the Christmas lights switch on and late night shopping. This is a lovely evening in Helston with lots of music, market stalls and shops open late - it's always really busy. We are playing from 6.30pm and will be starting somewhere outside WH Smiths, then processing down the main street to the stage where we'll perform another set. Awesome!

  • Mevagissey Christmas Lights

    We'll be playing in Mevagissey for the switch-on of the Christmas lights! We'll be playing during the afternoon and then in the early evening we'll be leading the lovely lantern parade down to the harbour, where we'll continue with a performance (undercover if raining). Band to meet at 1.30pm at Helston School as the coach will be leaving at 1.45pm prompt!

  • New Year's Eve in St Ives

    This has become something of a Samba Celtica tradition. The band will be playing around the streets of St Ives on New Year's Eve. You'll be able to spot us as we'll be the ones in fancy dress. Or if that's not enough, we'll be the ones playing samba really loudly in the middle of the largest dancing crowd you can find. Can't wait! See you there!
